An Italian Dinner Scene
"An Italian Dinner Scene" is a paper sculpture made out of pages of an Italian cookbook that tells the story of two people ending a relationship over dinner. After being broken up with, a very upset Partner 2 throws their napkin down, leaves their utensils and bread still in their bowl, knocks over their red wine, and storms off. Partner 1, shocked by this reaction, calmly folds their napkin, sets their utensils aside, and leaves the table with a glass still full of wine. Each object on the table was carefully duplicated out of wire and wrapped in paper in order to make two sets of dishes/silverware/glasses/napkins that matched exactly in size, and the bread basket was carefully hand woven out of paper strips. (Inspired by a combination of the songs "Scenes from an Italian Restaurant" by Billy Joel and "right where you left me" by Taylor Swift.)
