Production of Blue Oyster Mushrooms using inexpensive-recyclable growth mediums

As the hunt for culinary mushrooms is on the rise, it's becoming increasingly more expensive to source each year. With most grocery stores only selling one type of culinary mushroom- mainly button mushrooms, finding other varieties can become very costly. Oyster Mushrooms are fast growing and can be grown in relatively cheap or free and easy to source substrates. In this study we will examine the yields of blue oyster mushrooms grown on four different substrates : straw (control), used coffee grounds, sawdust and paper products. Each treatment was replicated three times and the experiment was repeated twice. Each test has three trials with a total of twelve trials. Each substrate was pasteurized using boiling water and allowed to rest undisturbed for 12 hours. Each treatment was separated into their respective bags and inoculated using standard procedures.
