Overgrowth

Michael Jacezko
Dr. Heidi Cook, Faculty Mentor

This work is a multimedia project in which water color paper was marbled using the Suminagashi technique and then oil paint was used to create the leaves and turtle of the piece. If anything, my hopes were that this project would convey a sense of overgrowth (hence, the title). I wanted the ink pattern and the painted objects seem to almost be in competition with each other. What resulted was this tangled clashing of colors and mediums.
