Mackenzie G. Smith
Dr. Jay W. Self, Faculty Mentor

Research suggest a lack of uniformity around the idea of vision has led to inconsistency within vision statements. However, Kantabutra has argued that seven vision attributes can be found in effective vision statements. To fill a gap in the literature, this research examines the vision statement form a public liberal arts institution in light of Kantabutra's seven vision attributes. Using Truman State University's vision statement, this paper examines the degree to which Kantabutra characteristics do or do not exist with Truman's vision statement.
