Dr. Marilyn Yaquinto, Faculty Mentor

Mental health is a prevalent issue in society. Having effective, accurate, and accessible psychological assessment methods are thus essential in the prevention and treatment of mental illness. This project will look into the traditional assessment methods that are typically carried out in Psychology and the new methods that are developed through Affective Computing (AC). The goal is to compare and evaluate the pros and cons of each approach and discuss how the development of AC may fundamentally alter the role of psychologists.
