An Examination of the Prevalence of Diagnostic Testing Modifications to Assess Communication Disorders in African-Americans

The purpose of this study was to examine the frequency of use and the perceived efficacy of diagnostic testing modifications used to compensate for linguistic and cultural biases, with a focus on the African-American population. Findings of the study, underscore the need for culturally responsible testing that accurately measures the ability of clients, with consideration of cultural differences.
