Colonialism and Identity in Season of Migration to the North
Tayeb Salih's novel Season of Migration to the North was first published in 1966. Mustafa Sa'eed, a Sudanese man who has spent years studying and living in Europe, returns to his home village on the banks of the Nile. We learn about Mustafa's past relationships with European women and his involvement in violent acts against them through his interactions with other villagers and his eventual confession to an unnamed narrator.
