Efficiency Test Apparatus for Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells

Lab-made test solar cells deal with very low currents and voltage, making noise effect very prominent in results. This research aims to streamline the process of efficiently testing these lab-made solar cells while reducing external interference within the data. The two main sources of interference within the data arise from the conductive apparatus involved in measuring the I-V data and the limited sensitivity of standard measuring multimeters. A low current/voltage measuring circuit is designed using an Arduino chip to automate the data collection process and ensure less noise within the data. A variable resistor is introduced within the circuit to allow for quick production of the IV-graph as output automatically. An apparatus, custom-made for specific solar cells, is built through 3D-printing technology to avoid using standard conductive equipment. This apparatus allows us to vastly speed up the testing process for solar cells.
