A Critique At America's Heart: Addressing Our Lack Of Humanity

Micahla A. Woolfolk
Dr. Chad Mohler, Faculty Mentor

Throughout American history, we have measured our societal success through the advancements in technology and its efficiency; however, the American sociological state has indicated that our American society is declining rather than improving. American issues such as racism, homelessness, distrust in political figures, gun violence, suppression of human rights, police brutality, and school shooting are just the beginning of the social recession in America. In this paper, I will analyze the social recession in America by addressing how our humanity has a direct connection and causation to the social recession. To succeed in this, I will address what humanity is,  how we can understand its relationship to our American society, and how our disconnection from humanity is the cause of the current social recession in America.
