The Evolution of the Cosmological Argument

Throughout history, there have been a great number of philosophers and theologians who have attempted to formulate an argument for the existence of God, and each of these arguments is commonly called a Cosmological Argument. There have been a great many influential and prolific thinkers to formulate a Cosmological Argument, from Thomas Aquinas, to Gottfried Leibniz, to Richard Swinburne, but each argument varies from one to the other often in an effort to address an objection to a previous version of the argument. This project will examine and analyze the arguments offered by the three aforementioned thinkers in an attempt to determine what major objections each had tried to answer.
