Bailey Olsbo
Dr. Audrey Viguier, Faculty Mentor

We will discuss how the law of parity in 2000 influences the representation of women in the elections in France, especially the most well known political women with the most influence : Edith Cresson prior to the law and Ségolène Royal after the law. Personal accounts will be used to learn how women influenced the elections in France. We will discuss the 29 year period between 1990 and the present to analze how the laws of France have been influenced by the women who are in politics.

Briefly, the ABCDs of Equality will be examined since changes in schools may affect election results in the future. The goal of the ABCDs of Equality is to fight against girl-boy stereotypes and to put in teachers' hands the tools to educate about equality and respect.
