Satisfaction of Senior Married Couples Living in Care Facilities
This study investigates levels of satisfaction of married couples residing in elderly care facilities. Does living with a partner help them cope in a new environment? I carried out semi-structured interviews with three couples. They reported satisfaction with their day to day care, emphasising their interactions with staff and the privacy that was given to them when they needed it. Dissatisfaction focused on the food that was provided at these facilities, as well as services received upon move-in. In addition to determining if the couples enjoyed their facilities, this study may serve as a template for future research into the field of coed gerontology.
