Christian Until Proven Jewish: Challenging the Judeo-Christian Identity

This research is an ongoing effort into studying what is Jewish about the Judeo-Christian Identity. The basic premise behind this work is that unless there are distinctly Jewish elements present, this is ultimately a Christian identity and not one that can claim legitimate Jewish affiliation. I have devised a test of ten distinctly Christian and ten distinctly Jewish elements used as a lens to analyze the books read and research completed during this semester to determine if the Judeo portion of Judeo-Christian has any merit. In conducting this research I have found that there are more unanswered questions raised in challenging this identity than concrete answers provided to support it. I perceived this identity to be one of unshakable stature: one that could withstand the scrutiny of analysis, but what I have found is there is an illusory veil masking this phrase, prompting reexamination of its usage in today’s nomenclature.
