Gender and Identity: The Classification That Defines Your Being
Gender role classifications have been prominent in our society and lifestyles for many years. The roles themselves become passed on throughout generations. As each generation evolves the roles become more personified. Gender roles have been a significant portrayal of human lifestyles. The way we view gender, and the roles that a person takes on, begins on the base of a preconceived treatment towards that person. Historically, woman’s roles are seen as a lesser role than a man’s. Studies show that women typically partake in more loving and caring roles; while men partake in more masculine roles and tend to not show as much emotion towards things. While children grow up they learn these roles by watching how their parents interact with each other. In order to deconstruct gender roles, societal views would have to be evaluated and changed for any progress to be made.
