A Study Looking at the Relationship between Exercise and Happiness Among College Students
This study examines the relationship between exercising and levels of school related stress among college students. Data was collected through a survey at Truman State University. Participants had to be 18 years of age or older and a registered student at Truman (n=25). The main focus of this study is to see if college students who exercise more, have lower levels of school related stress. Tested variables include: days exercised, hours exercised, feelings of happiness throughout exercising, and levels of school related stress. Results show that there was some significance between levels of school stress and the number of days they exercised per week. A majority students that reported having moderate levels of stress, exercised an average of 3 days a week. With the low sample size, there wasn’t enough data to conclude that students who exercised more had lower levels of stress.
