To aid Truman State University’s Student Access and Disability Services Office with its internal evaluation, it is advantageous to analyze best practices in data management and distribution between comparable higher education institutions’ student affairs and disability services offices. This research investigates methodologies and tools comparable higher education institutions utilize to collect and store information regarding students using disability services offices. This project provides a deeper understanding of topics such as what types of data universities regularly send to their disability services offices, how this information is stored confidentially, and what tools are used to collect this data. An analysis of these best practices will promote retention and graduation rates among students with disabilities at Truman State University.
