Synthesis of Potassium Glycolaldehyde Sulfate

Caleb H. DeWitt* and Molly M. Huebner
Dr. Tim Humphry and Dr. Amy Fuller, Faculty Mentors

Organosulfate esters are very prevalent aerosolized pollutants that have been detected in the atmosphere. Though these are very prevalent pollutants, there is very little known about their properties. Potassium Glycolaldehyde Sulfate is synthesized to further study its chemical properties.
