This paper will examine the relationship between African and African American communities. Focusing on the social, economic and political effects of African and Caribbean immigration, this paper explores black identity, the effects of immigration on racism and the ways in which racism affects immigrants. In this research, I look at African-American culture and its roots in African culture and the tension between African and African-American communities. Finally, I analyze how these two communities interact with and affect each other.
