The Trojan War-Battling Safe Sex at Truman State University

College can be a time of sexual exploration and having safe sex is important for maintaining the health of students. This research project is to compare Truman State University greek and non-greek students on knowledge about safe sex, beliefs about sex, and actual safe sex behaviors. This study was conducted using an online survey that was sent to students who attended Truman State University in fall 2018. The survey was sent to 809 randomly selected students and 287 responses were received, which is a response rate of 35%. There are questions specifically for knowledge about safe sex, beliefs about safe sex, safe sex habits, and demographics of the respondents. The results of this study show no statistically significant differences between greeks and non-greeks for knowledge and beliefs about safe sex; however, the differences between greeks and non-greeks for all variables of actual safe sex behavior are statistically significant.
