The Political Outcomes of Income Inequality and Financial Accumulation

Jordan A. Young
Dr. John Quinn, Faculty Mentor

Income inequality and its political repercussions are examined in relation to the accumulation of wealth of financial markets in countries around the world. In this hypothesis testing study, the effects of this accumulation of wealth in 36 O.E.C.D. countries are analyzed through the lens of its impact on income inequality. Utilizing a multivariate time-series regression, this takes a structuralist approach in its interpretation and analysis of the political ramifications of this trend.
