Gender Discrimination: A Personal Perspective

Caitlin S. Donahue-Gleeson
Dr. Hena Ahmad, Faculty Mentor

Gender Discrimination is institutionalized as there is a cultural construct of the institution called Society that calls for women to focus on being inferior objects of male desire to keep the "status quo".  The common controversies such as dress codes, sexual harassment, institutionalized academic, and career advancement will be addressed through the societal lens through qualitative and quantitative research, queer and feminist theories.  Drawing on my personal experiences, in adddition to other research, this paper will examine the insidious ways in which gender discrimination operates in academic institutions.
