Anita Sarkesian, Misrepresenting Videogame Sexism: A Critical look at a flawed argument

Sexism in videogames exacerbates the cultural tension in the videogame community. This extreme tension elicits hyperbolic viewpoints that polarize popular positions into absurdity. Anita Sarkesian, the most well-known figure in the field, argues that videogames promote misogyny. While making valid points, she often goes too far, Abandoning nuance and rationality in favor for extremism and simplicity. By viewing her Arguments through historical and economic lenses, The misogyny latent in the medium gets exposed while also debunking the more extreme and irrational claims intended to simplify and nullify the nuances inherent Therein.
