Stay, Endure. Leave, Be Free: A Proposed Poetry Manuscript Focused on the Phases of Life Before College and Finding Freedom Within It.

Sabra D. Medlin
Dr. James D'Agostino, Faculty Mentor

For my SRC presentation I propose a reading from my original full-length poetry manuscript, “Stay, Endure. Leave, Be Free.” The poems presented in the manuscript have origins from both coursework here at Truman State University and independent research. The manuscript consists of four sections, “Begin”, “Oppose”, “Betrayal”, and “Freedom”, which highlight the different stages of life that I have gone through leading up to being accepted at Truman. For my presentation, I plan on excerpting each section during my reading, demonstrating the evolution of my project, and my journey into feeling free.
