An Overview of Topological Quantum Computing
In our modern era where computing has proven to be one of the defining technologies, quantum computing has emerged as a potential technological advancement that could revolutionize the field. One of the current major challenges facing quantum computation is the error rate of the computations themselves. One potential solution to this problem that has risen to prominence in recent years is topological quantum computation which presents a clear path to fault tolerant quantum computers.We review the current available body of literature on topological quantum computing and present a comprehensive overview of what topological quantum computing is, how it works, and where the future of this research and technology is going.
