Dr. Jesse D. Krebs, Faculty Mentor

The clarinet music of Eric Mandat (b. 1957) is frequently performed in recitals today around the world.  As a clarinetist he composes music in a very idiomatic way, and his creativity with extended techniques is unparalleled.  This presentation will discuss the biography of Mandat and provide an overview of his music.  Then excerpts will be performed from his solo piece Folk Songs (1986), as well as a demonstration of how the techniques are accomplished.
