Soda Tab Chainmail: A Depiction of Armor Recycled

Aidan L. Cunningham
Dr. Kathryn Brammall, Faculty Mentor

Soda Tab Chainmail: A Depiction of Armor Recycled is a hauberk chainmail piece made to display the ways in which armor throughout history has been recycled in both form and purpose. Throughout my research, I have found that armor is an ever-changing technology and the physical appearance of many types of armor is widely varied across nations and eras. Moreover, within chronological and national contexts the needs and preferences of the wearer can result in even greater variety. Yet, when one dons armor it often holds the same sentiments; that the wearer is protected, is uniform with other warriors, and is authoritatively strong.
