To assist researchers in studying how the skin responds to exogenously supplied hormones or drugs, to normal physiological stimuli, and to pathological processes, it is part of the project to analyze the images of skin tissues and provide an accurate description of the cell population kinetics of the skin tissues. In an effort to develop software solutions to automate and accelerate the image analysis of the cell cycle kinetics, our research team have had promising results using basic tools in ImageJ with several techniques and mathematical models in identifying and differentiating the image into its component structures, and extracting information (area, perimeter, convexity, shape, color...) about each structure in the image in terms of user-defined categorical variables.
