The Fabric of Environmentalism: An Examination of Textiles in Context of the Environment

This paper presents an evaluation of the environmental impact of the many options of materials that make up contemporary textiles. The primary focus is placed on the lifecycle analysis of the fabric--from raw materials, the treatment of the fabric, and the care requirements to the disposal phase. Based on the findings within the research, suggestions are made for best decision purchasing practices for the conscientious consumer.
