Crystallographic Studies of Lead Coordination Compounds
Eric L. Null
Dr. James McCormick, Faculty Mentor
The geometry changes of Pb2+ coordination complexes with systematic variations in the ligand and counter-ions are reported for several polydentate N-and O-donor ligands with NO3-, ClO4- , PF6-, and tetraphenyl borate. The structures of these complexes will be discussed in terms of the stereochemical activity of the Pb2+ lone pair, changes in topology with changes in counter-ions, and the possible interaction between Pb2+ and the phenyl rings of tetraphenyl borate.
