Three Women in the Wrong; A Feminist Approach to the Stories of Eve, Delilah, and Mary Magdalene in the Bible
Rachel E. White
Dr. Hena Ahmad, Faculty Mentor

The Bible includes many stories involving a man of God being brought down by a woman. Three women Eve, Delilah, and Mary Magdalene are examples of stories that have been misinterpreted in their teaching. Eve is told to be a transgressor, Delilah a seductress, and Mary a prostitute. This paper is focused on defending these women and building up the reputation of women in the Bible. This paper however, does not discredit the content of the Bible, it uses what is already there and gives a different way of understanding what is written. The Bible is male dominated and it is rare to find female heroes to look up to as a female Christian. By using a feminist approach to the same stories of Eve, Delilah, and Mary Magdalene this paper restores the respect these women deserve.
