From Hollywood to Bollywood: Arranged Marriage as Portrayed through Film

In American culture the topic of arranged marriages is pass; however for many across the world this is an expected component of life. In both Hollywood and Bollywood films arranged marriages are still a common theme, especially in the context of Indian culture. By analyzing essential values in Indian culture such as gender roles, definitions of love, and family, we will be able to se if the reality portrayed in films reflects the real world and how film influences culture.
