The Wind Ensemble Percussion Section:
An Overview of the Last Half of the 20th Century

In the last sixty years, there have been many changes in how composers approach writing for the wind ensemble. No individual section has felt these changes more than the percussion section. This evolution will be shown through the analysis of percussion scores from three pieces from the standard repertoire.
