The Relationship Between Advanced Placement Credits and Undergraduate Degrees
Emily L. Gregory* and Kim S. Rogers
Dr. Wendy Miner, Faculty Mentor

This study investigated the relationship between the types of Advanced Placement credits students brought in when they entered Truman and the degree with which they graduated. The relationship between the number of Advanced Placement credit hours and the number of years it took to complete their undergraduate degrees was also studied. The data were obtained from the transcripts of undergraduate students who graduated in Spring 2004. We hypothesized that, as the number of A.P. credits increased, the length of time spent completing an undergraduate degree would decrease. We also hypothesized that the type of A.P. credits brought in and the degrees students graduated with would be positively correlated.
