North Temperate Zone Archaeology: A Comparison of Archaeological Sequences with an Aquatic Option
Jacob C. Freeman
Dr. Amber Johnson, Faculty Mentor
Nine archaeological sequences from the northern temperate zone are compared using environmental and hunter-gatherer frames of reference. All nine sequences are from regions in which aquatic resources were a subsistence option for prehistoric hunters and gatherers. The duration of time that the prehistoric peoples of these regions were hunters and gathers varies greatly. This variability is explored and suggestions for further research are presented.
