How Do Religion Match, Religious Coping, & Religiosity Impact Acculturative Stress Levels Among International Students?

Duy Le
Dr. Katie Judd, Faculty Mentor

International students are susceptible to stress and anxiety due to the drastic transition in their life. Thus,  the purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between religion match, religious coping, religiosity, and acculturative stress levels amongst international students. We hypothesize that,  in a pluralistic, multi-religion setting, international students who share the same belief system with major religions on campus who have positive religious coping and high levels of religiosity will have lower levels of acculturative stress. The data analysis of this study failed to support this hypothesis. Future research on this topic might see a different result with larger international student participation.
