Information Technology Infrastructure Analysis and Recommendations of DHL

This paper discusses DHL, a global shipping company. This paper is a look at information technology (IT) use and analysis of a large corporate firm. The paper addresses many topics relating to DHL including; background, organizational structure, culture, and communication, business model, IT architecture, competitive environment, as well as, IT use. Many tools were used to further analyze DHL’s IT strategies as a company. These tools include an in-depth look at their strategic matrix, competitive forces, SWOT analysis (Strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats), and value chain. At the conclusion of DHL’s analysis, the use of the 4’E tool was used to explain and find recommendations the group felt would be beneficial to DHL and their IT department and processes.
