"Love and Other Weird Anomalies": An Exploration of Story Telling In Graphic Novel Form
Katherine E. Sherron
Prof. Russell Nelson, Faculty Mentor
A modern form of story-telling, the graphic novel is fast gaining notice both within and outside of the literary and art worlds. The popular medium of the graphic novel relates a story through the combination of text and images, creating segmented images that also work together as a whole. This project involved the authoring of four short-short stories (each under 500 words,) development of a style suited to the medium, storyboarding, character development, drawing and inking of images, and the creation of a bound volume of these stories. The display of this project will include the final bound volume as well as character sketches, layout plans, and other preparatory images to better show the process involved in creating a graphic novel.
