Purpose of this study was to determine the association between constant-load repetition bench press test and parallel dips. Members of a high school football team (n = 65) were evaluated for the maximum number of bench press repetitions using a constant load of 185 lbs and for the maximum number of parallel dips. Each test was administered on separate days with 48 hrs of recovery between. Body weight was positively related to bench press repetitions (r = 0.51, p<0.05) and negatively related to parallel dips (r = -0.49, p<0.05). The nonsignificant correlation between bench press repetitions and parallel dips (r = 0.11) was increased to a significant level when body weight was held constant by partial correlation (r = 0.48). Muscular endurance performance in two dissimilar upper body exercises were highly correlated indicating a generalizability factor for these exercises. Both exercises were moderately affected by body weight but in opposite ways.
