Online Test Scores vs. Paper Test Scores: A Comparative Analysis
Previous researchers have found that there is a significant difference between online test scores versus paper test scores. I sought to determine which testing form had a higher performance rate on third grade students at Odessa Upper Elementary School. The hypothesis was that students who tested on paper would have a higher performance rate. This research paper investigates the comparative performance of students on online tests as opposed to traditional paper-based assessments, aiming to shed light on the implications of technology in education. The study employs a comprehensive analysis of test scores, encompassing a diverse sample of students from various educational levels. Findings indicate notable disparities between online and paper test scores, revealing that students tend to perform differently depending on the assessment. Further research is encouraged to explore the evolving landscape of education and assessment methods in the twenty-first century.
