The Journey to Public Health Accreditation with Tri-County Health Department

My project is about my work as an intern with the Tri-County Health Department.Tri- County is a very small health department that serves three counties: Dekalb, Gentry, and Worth County. My main project is working towards accreditation. The accreditation board for health departments’ is PHAB(Public Health Accreditation Board). During this process so far, I have attended training for health departments in Missouri all looking to achieve accreditation. After this training,we began to fill out the PHAB readiness assessment. This is a tool provided by PHAB in order for health departments to get feedback on their preparedness for accreditation. I was named the accreditation coordinator by my supervisor and used numerous documents provided by the health department in order to fill out the assessment across the 10 domains of public health.
