Truman State University Summer Courses: A Marketing Research Analysis
Kelsey Monsaert
Dr. John Perrachione, Faculty Mentor

We performed a research project concerning Truman State University’s summer course program. Our ultimate goal was to obtain information for our client, Dr. Garry Gordon, Vice President of Academic Affairs at Truman. Primarily our research pertained to the various factors which influence student behaviors related to Truman’s summer courses. Additionally, we hoped to gain further insight to the questions, “How can Truman improve its summer course offerings and enrollment?” A second aspect of our project was conducted for Dr. John Perrachione. For this client, we hoped to determine whether informed consent is a necessary aspect of the research process. After collecting data, we then analyzed this data to determine what our conclusions and recommendations were. Some of our key recommendations included: more extensive promotion of the summer tuition discount, utilizing academic advisors as a means to promote summer courses, and compile an earlier summer class list.
