Kara L. Hardin* and Ellie C. Duncan
Dr. Ilene Elminger, Faculty Mentor

This student-led study, conducted by Kara Hardin and Ellie Duncan, investigates how education about the dangers of noise exposure influences headphone usage and listening habits among college-aged students. Specifically, the study aims to assess the listening behaviors of Truman State University students and determine whether they are engaging in practices that may lead to unhealthy noise exposure. This research is grounded in existing literature that highlights the issue of excessive noise levels from personal listening devices among college students.
