Starbucks (SBUX) Valuation

Kyle L. Stockmann* and Christopher L. Hammock
Prof. Charles Boughton , Faculty Mentor

Starbucks Corporation (SBUX) is the leading worldwide coffee company with a popular brand name, international presence, and innovative business model. The valuation of Starbucks' financials, growth potential, and position in the market is estimated by using fundamental valuation methods, including discounted cash flow (DCF) analysis and relative valuation ratios. Key considerations such as revenue expansion, operating margins, capital expenditures, and macroeconomic factors are considered to determine the intrinsic value of the firm. Competitive forces, consumer behavior, and strategic initiatives, such as digitalization and global expansion, are also crucial in assessing the future potential of Starbucks. The analysis assists in determining whether Starbucks is undervalued or overvalued relative to its existing price, enabling investors to make well-informed decisions.
