"Tarnished"

Abigayle Keller
Dr. Heidi Cook, Faculty Mentor

The installation is comprised of multiple texturally complex units made of muslin that have been rust dyed to create a sense of filth and decomposition. Each unit varies in size and scale and they're arranged in a way that allows them to topple on top of one another. One starts their gaze at the top or the bottom of the piece and gets a sense of chaotic gradation as the size of the units either increases or decreases. Each unit is in its own unique stage of decomposition, however, all of the units interact with one another to provoke a sense of uneasiness as the viewer tries to figure out the reasoning behind the unit's and installation's existence.
