Katherine M. Schertzer* and Thu T. Nguyen
Prof. Jennifer Eldridge, Faculty Mentor

The purpose of the research is to look at the trends of sexually transmitted infections over a four year span in the Kirksville, Missouri, area and at Truman State University. Data was acquired from Missouri, Adair County, Tri-Rivers Planned Parenthood in Kirksville, and Truman State University’s Student Health Center. Secondary data will be collected, analyzed, and compared to national data. There will be monthly breakdowns of all totals to show how they have affected the area from 2001 to 2004. The analysis will show problem areas in Kirksville and at Truman State University, comparison of infections between locations, and how the infection trends have changed over the time period.
