Exploration of Tools and Techniques of Adobe Photoshop: An Independent Study
Mindy L. Bryant
Prof. Russell Nelson, Faculty Mentor

Photoshop WOW is an independent study that will develop and enhance my skills for using Photoshop. As a graphic designer, the ability to successfully use this software will make me more adequate, versatile and essential in the design industry. My projects will challenge me to use tools that I am not very familiar with such as vectors, channels, masks, gradients and the tools for retouching photography. These projects will include recreating hand drawn images into computer images, elaborating artwork using color, gradients, and three-dimensionality, and retouching photography. At the symposium I plan to present my projects as printouts spray mounted on black mat board. Each project will have a typed explanation of its perimeters and the tools used for its creation. My home computer will also be set up so I will be able to answer questions about my techniques. The limitation of not knowing how to use Photoshop decreases my efficiency as a graphic designer, I want to become more experienced with the techniques the software has to offer.
