The Impact of Divorce on Children: An Issue of Family Structure or Family Dynamic
Melody F. Crowe♦
Dr. Christopher Maglio, Faculty Mentor

The purpose of this study was to look at attitudes of marriage and intimacy in college students and analyze them as a function of family structure and family dynamic. While current research has provided a large amount of information about the impact of divorce, it has failed to provide conclusive results on whether the issues associated with divorce are a direct result of the family structure, or if the family dynamic also influences future attitudes toward marriage and intimacy. Students were asked to provide information about their attitudes towards marriage, intimacy, and their perception of familial conflict. A causal comparative design was used to explore causal relationships between the variables in the study. Results will be presented.
