Becky A. Niles
Prof. Russell Nelson, Faculty Mentor

Within the past decade, the use of computers for both design and art simulation has grown tremendously. The program Adobe Photoshop is an incredibly powerful and complex program, allowing its user to create convincing illustrations from photographs, among its countless other functions. This project arises from an independent study in Photoshop, and the application's usefulness as a digital illustration medium. Various techniques were used to simulate numerous illustrative techniques. This project will demonstrate the transformation of a photograph or line illustration into a finished piece of Photoshop art. It will focus on showing the growing potential and relevance of Photoshop in illustration.
