This informative project written in French about the recent immigration to Kirksville by citizens from Central Africa seeks to focus on the challenges that this community has faced through their adaptation process. The project includes background information on the countries of the Democratic Republic of Congo, The Republic of Congo, and Cameroon, which are the origin countries of most of Kirksville’s immigrant population. Through newspaper articles and personal interviews the project concentrates on the local francophone community and presents the challenges this community has faced in a chronological format. A comparison is made from the obstacles from 2015, to the current struggles in 2020, and predictions and goals for the community and for Kirksville in the future.
