L'enracinement : A text in translation.

L’enracinemnet is a novel written by French 20th century philosopher Simone Viel. In which she describes what it means to be human and the entertwining roots that connect us to our past, our future, and ourselves. This presentation deals with some of the obstacles of translating this text from French to English, including issues of style, syntax, punctuation, and metaphor.
